Cocoa Avocado Smoothie

Whenever I get a chance, I try to make smoothies for breakfast. During the early stages of my marriage, when we both had normal work schedules, both, me and my husband resorted for smoothies as our breakfast. I loved those days!

It’s been difficult to keep up with that routine, so I sneak in a few of these with healthy salad recipes. I also sneak in a tall glass in place of snacks, right before my workout schedule. This smoothie is a great replacement to protein shakes, with the energy boosts from the fruits, nuts and seeds. The thickness of the avocado, yields a nice texture to this recipe, as well.

Cocoa Avocado Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 Ripe Banana

  • 1 Tbsp Cocoa Nibs

  • 1 Tbsp Chia Seeds

  • 2 Tbsp Honey

  • 2 Tbsp Matcha Powder

  • 1 Tbsp Cocoa powder

  • 1 Tbsp Almond or Peanut Butter

  • 1/2 Avocado

  • 2 Cups Milk of choice

  • Mint for Garnish

Directions

  • Blend all ingredients together with milk in a a Vita-mix or Blender.
  • Pour in tall glass and garnish with a sprig of Mint.

Notes

  • To make this recipe vegan, use almond, soy or coconut milk.
