Sapna Kokal is an avid traveler having traveled to more than 60 countries around the globe. Her early days at the Hotel Management School gave her a solid foundation and kick started her journey in culinary arts. Her passion for food if anything has become more intense because she likes to return from her travels jumping right into what she has tasted, touched and savored recreating those irresistible and authentic tastes, colors, smells…..call it reliving her experience through food! With her whole family pretty much obsessed with eating “good quality foods” she is always on the quest to learn more tricks of the trade, working with local ingredients to create foods made with “love”. This is her way of injecting and infusing happiness in the otherwise mundane world of ruts and routines!”

As I am collecting the ingredients for one of my all-time favorite cocktails, I can’t help but experience de’ja`vu. It wasn’t too long ago when we were jetting off to an island (last being Sri Lanka for us with a bunch of friends) lounging on a beach chair or by the poolside and dreamily sipping away a cool cocktail. Ahhh… just seems like a forgotten skill from the last decade. But what’s stopping me from being my own bartender, playing my songs and watching the bougainvillea and frangipani sway in my backyard while I slowly sip away at this heavenly cocktail.  Really nothing, so I’m going to snap out of it and just go for it! With my wet hair, bathrobe and slippers donned and holding this beauty, I am back to being a happy soul that I am!

The fruitiness combined with the boldness of tequila and livened with soda water, I promise you this concoction is most refreshing with the hot summer days ahead of us all. If you don’t want the alcohol, no problem, you can easily double up on the watermelon juice and you won’t regret it!
